Recommended Powders for 223 Remington

50-53grain bullets.......n133......n530.....wc844......
Be careful developing a load for N530. My understanding is that it was discontinued a couple of years ago.

Not sure if I posted this in the original thread or not, but I run N133 with the 53gr Vmax. When powder started becoming available again post covid, I also bought 24 MORE pounds of TAC to use for generic blasting powder because I could get it for $27/pound and everything else was $32 or more. The next thing I knew, N133 (actually most VV powders) was the cheapest option at around $36 and everything else was +$40 so I bought a few more kegs of it. Now I need to start stocking back up on primers. Last time I had to buy them, I was only giving $26 per box (1,000). My supply of SRP and SPP are below 5k each so I really need to start saving up my pennies so I can re-stock next time I see a good sale.

I use H335 these days, but I got excellent accuracy with Accurate 2230 and the Sierra 65 gr Gameking. I’ve never been able to get that same level of accuracy with that bullet and H335, but all the other bullets I load work fine with it. I also use H335 in the 6.5 Grendel, which is why I keep a supply on hand.

I get excellent accuracy in multiple ARs using H322 (22.7 gr) w/ WPA SRM under Hornady 55gr FBSPs.
Haven't found a load for H322 in new 26" Savage 110 Varmint yet, but we'll see (exploring imr8208xbr now)...

8208xbr is great with the Hornady 68 match bullets. I get 5 shot groups in the low to mid 2s in my Savage LRPV.

I ordered a 223 Rem 1:14 twist barrel to shoot the 52 and 53 grain flat base Berger and Sierra bullets. Will be shooting at 100-200 yards What powders would you recommend to try first? I have the following powders on hand.
10X, H355, Tac, H4895, CFE-223, IMR 4198, Varget and VV 140
Thanks
H335 & H4895.
