Recommendations for a 4-30x56 style scope

I'm looking to get a new rifle scope for a 300 PRC build.
Important features for me are:
- FFP
- MRAD turrets
- illumination
- 56mm objective lens
I get different pricing because I'm in the military so that comes into play also. I prefer not to spend ATACR pricing if I can avoid it (also, it avoids opening a new level of bag of worms of Nightforce vs March vs Steiner etc). I was leaning towards the Athlon for a low end and Valdada for high end.

Athlon Cronus BTR G2 UHD for $1200
Tract Toric ELR for $1440
Delta Optical Stryker HD for $1700 (Waiting to hear if they have a mil discount)
Vortex Razer G2 for $1740 (EBR-7C) / $2040 (H59)
Leupold Mark 5HD for $2015 (ill TMR) / $2032 (ill Tremor 3)
Valdada Recon G2 for $2275
Leica PRB for $2429
Nightforce ATACR $2800-$3200

Trijicon Tenmile is the newer version of the Delta. The earlier version of Trijicon, the Accupower, can sometimes be found at a good price on ebay. Athlon Ares line are in the 1K price range.

Trijicon has an MIL/LEO/GOV discount program.

I'm a little confused, you say 4-30x which is a 7.5x mag range but you include scopes with only a 5x range which would be either 4-20x or 6-30x if we stay with either of the high/low mags. So I'm guessing that you want plenty of top end and as small a low end as you can get and you want to spend around 2.2k or less.

I really like 3 of the scopes you have listed and have used those 3 quite a bit. One important note: You can still score a screaming deal on a Crimson Trace Series 5 https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1020619673?pid=259746 I've tested all of the CT "Series" lines (2,3,5) and they're all really really good. It was a $2k scope when it came out but CT never really got traction and seems to be stepping out of the market. Still good warranty, free batteries for life and they are in fact fantastic optics.

Cons:
Razor II - heavy as balls
Mk5 - 35mm tube makes for small ring selection
Recon G2 - 40mm tube makes for almost no ring selection

Pros:
Razor II - Only the weight is a negative. Otherwise, spectacular optic in all respects.
Mk 5 - 5x magnification range at a 6x price.
Recon - G2 is a lower end line made in Japan instead of Romania. They're a fine scope but they're just another bloody jap made optic and they're wanting all the money for it. If you're going to IOR Recon, get the original: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1009449952?pid=174821 Now that's a scope!

I have tested the Cronus as well and very much approved of it but it was at the time too expensive for what you got. At the price you have, if it's the same scope I tested a few years back it's great.

ATACR is really hard to beat except for the price being in space.

US Optics Foundation series are really super nice too.

Of all those choices OP listed, the Razor is probably where I'd go but if I were to buy a scope today, I'd score another of those CT's. I have bought 4 of them now. Just can't get that kind of glass for that kind of money ever unless they're on fire sale.

What are your thoughts on the Meopta6 5-30x56 scope?

https://www.eurooptic.com/Meopta-Opt...pe-653608.aspx

My discount comes out to $590 for it. I read they are a good bang for buck for their spotting scope.

I currently have a Bushnell Elite Tactical XRS II 4.5-30x50 on my 6.5 CM. I'm not sure where that falls with all these scope but I could put that on my 300 PRC build and get a cheaper scope to put on my 6.5 CM. I'm also curious about the Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 Mil-XT for $1720.

Should I stick with the 56mm objective category?

I haven't used a lot of Meopta. The one that I have some decent experience with was perfectly fine for what it was. NX8's have been very very nice. I had the chance to wring a couple out in Africa recently and they were excellent. When you spend 2 grand, you're kinda getting what 2 grand gets, good stuff.

The military discount for some of these high end scopes is pretty amazing. I have a friend who has taken advantage of the military Discount programs for Steiner, NightForce and Leupold. He is enjoying some their high end models for much less than most of us.

Which I think is awesome and I’ll add... Thank you for your service! Enjoy those discounts, you deserve them!

I’m using that Meopta now. No issues holding zero, tracks great, glass is much better than I expected for the price.... the scope really performs at a much higher level than the price.

I really like the Burris XTR series. These scopes always overdeliver and cost less than most of the ones on your list. I have XTR2 and XTR3 series - the new XTR3 in 5.5-30x56 is so nice that I bought 2. "Street" pricing around $1500.

I was just going to mention the 5.5-30x56 XTRIII. Its a great scope. Unfortunately it is not Illuminated so if thats a deal breaker then its out, but its a great scope.

Theres a 3-18x56 XTRIII for sale here at a great price if it was MOA I would have bought it already
