Recoil Pads for 30BR

Anyone using recoil pads on there 30BR , if so what are you using , Having a 30BR built , is the recoil really that bad to need one .

I don't think a 30BR kicks very much but I've never been recoil sensitive. If you go to the IBS website and click onto pictures and click on any of the matches listed in the picture galley, you'll see pictures of the 30BR rigs that the guy's are shooting and you'll see that most of them do not use a recoil pad on their rifles.

On my Metal Mayhem stock I used 5/8" or 3/4" stick on weatherstripping from Home Depot. Get the black colored stuff as it is the most dense. Made a heck of a difference in the felt recoil. After the match just strip it off and throw it away.

I have a Limb saver on my McMillan for my 30,
but the rifle is not complete to be able to answer
your question. I dont like recoil, thats why I went
that route. I know a brake is not popular on the line,
but if needed, I have one on standby for installation.

You better check the rules before installation.

My 11 yr. old daughter shoots my 30BR with a polished aluminum buttplate with a smile on her face. I'd shoot the rifle first before I'd worry about a recoil pad.

Thanks guys for all the replys , with every thing weighed it looks like I have 7.9LBS of weight left for the barrel

How bout one of those strap on shotgun pads? Ive seen em with that gel in em. Im talkin the ones that strap on your shoulder not on the gun
