Recoil pad needed for this:

Cerus maybe
It might be made for a Cerus. I searched back thru my PMs but I gave up after 200 or so going back 3 years. It’s 2” wide and 5 1/4” tall.
KICK-EEZ makes a lot of grind to fit pads, I'm sure you can find one that's just oversized and then grind down.
I have a bunch of Pachmeyer pads and I could try to grind one down but some have a steel insert that gets exposed if ground too much.

Winner winner chicken dinner! I just sent them an email. After zooming in on some of their pictures, it does suspiciously look like they just ground down a Pachmeyer or such.
I started searching through pictures and besides Cerus a ST1000 is the only option both are taller from peak down than they are up to comb.

Hope that chicken is spicy

you know pachmayr makes the metal templates the size of the metal insert so a person knows how far they can grind

Damn that is a great idea!
I’ll stir around when it gets light out and throw a couple of pics up. This stuff is dense, gives just a little, but you aren’t limited to what sizes are available.

I’ve never tried to polish this smooth, but don’t see why it wouldn’t work. The top side has a decent pattern. It has a little more give than a Model 70 XTR red pad. I repurpose stuff all the time…

Looks like horse stall matting you can get at your local farm store. Murdocks, Tractor Supply ect.

Very similar if not the same I think. I got mine some years ago from a guy that fabricated or installed weight lifting stations.

Limbsaver will soak up the most recoil of any recoil pad I have tried. They also help a bit with muzzle rise and cheek slap without having to cut pitch into the stock. They can be tough to grind. I usually put one in the freezer before grinding. Limbsavers don't last long in hot climates.
Kickeez makes a very good pad that grinds well. I use a lot of them on customers guns.
One of my favorites is Pachmayr. They are easy to grind and do a good job with recoil. They do have the mentioned metal insert you'll get to if you grind to much.

I don’t think grind to fit pads are gonna work because of the length of the straight sidewall. All the normal grind to fit pads I have ever seen or used over the years have rounded or tapered sides that aren’t going to fully cover the corners on that plate.

So probably gonna have to build something custom from scratch

I grind pads for shotguns and the key is to put them in the freezer! Once it’s frozen grinding is easy and there’s no tearing or ripping of the rubber .
