recoil lug pinning and short action mag boc mofidication

what is the procedure to pin a recoil lug to ensure it is aligned the same everytime? I am building a couple switch barrel rifles on Rem 700 actions. One short action and one long action. I like the idea of one stock, one trigger. Other than headspacing is there anything I need to address?
I also want to modify a standard short action magazine to make it work with the 22BR-30BR family of cartridges. I'll be working with an ADL mag. set up.

Most of the after market lug have a pin hole in them. Align the lug on the receiver to a perfect fit ( I use a old bbl stub ) and drill it in place... Some folks drill a extra hole and pin that, but I don't and never had a problem with just the one pin..
I've also tigged the lugs on a few...

Thanks preacher. I was thinking bout Silver solder, but wasn't sure if that would hold.

Silver solder has to high of a melting point, but Force 44 would probably hold up if it was a perfect job.. Pinning the lug is still your best bet unless you know someone with a TIG welder..that knows gun steel..........

It may be easier to slot the bottom face of the receiver to match the dowel pin diameter. If you have a 1/8 dowel pin hole in the recoil lug mill a 1/8 slot in the face of the receiver on the bottom centerline to match the lug and you're set. No need to fixture anything.
