rechamber to .50bmg

I have a 338 Winchester mag made by howa,I was told i could rechamber up to .50 cal,can this be bone by rebarrelling? also have a savage 300 win mag, looking to convert the 338 to something large for extreme long distance shooting.

If you are talking about rechambering to 50 BMG - the answer is an emphatic NO! This cartridge is not even close to the same thing as a "normal" round. You would need a MUCH LARGER action.

If you are talking a 50 Beowolf, then it should be OK.

You need to be a lot more specific. Are you talking "50 Caliber" or "50 BMG"? There is a lot of maneuvering room between those two terms.

It appears that the topic "de' Jour" is - rechamber to .50bmg

The answer is a resounding NO!

Sounds un-lawful to me...rechambering your .338 to .50 BMG would be a kin to building a pipe bomb, with the same results if you got it to fire...
