RECHAMBER to 22BRX

I would like to have a 22BRX that is a walking weight varmint rifle. Are there any factory rifles I could buy that you can take the barrel off and rechamber to 22BRX? Anything you buy would probably be a longer cartridge. I assume you would have to cut about 1/2" off the back of the barrel and rethread it because the cartridge is short. Looks like it would have to be a 223 or 22-250 to get the correct bolt head diameter and a 14 twist or faster barrel. I think I need a 10 twist if I want to shoot any bullets above 52 grains.

Webster,

Unless you can do the gunsmithing youself. I would buy the gun replace the barrel with a custom barrel and sell the factory take off barrel. I rechamber will cost the same as new barrel.

you would have to go with a 22-250 for it to work. a 223 will have a smaller bolt face and will not work. the 22-250 will have the same size boltface. it would be cheaper to use that barrel and have it rechambered but you won't have the same performance as you would if you replaced the barrel. new barrel $340+ chamber job $200ish or just rechamber $200ish.
