receiver pics

anyone have any pics of a Turbo or Stiller .22LR receiver. i am wanting to build a super accurate plinker, and want to go full custom. i have thought about doing a 10/22 based rifle with an MOA corp receiver and a Lilja or Benchmark barrel. Just can't make up my mind. Thanks.

thanks. i guess i didn't look around good enough on their website. i'm guessing that is a single shot? i had heard that stiller was still trying to work out some issues with the receiver, i think it was extraction. i wonder if this has been ironed out? thanks again

some turbo pics. As far as I know stiller's extraction problem is still not fixed. There was a mag-fed lightweight turbo prototype (for hunter class) i saw a while back, but I think they had problems feeding and I haven't heard anything since. If you want to plink IMO a nice 10/22 would be loads more fun...

thanks for the pics on the Turbo. i was thinking that if i did a bolt action, i would put on a nice wood laminate stock--something from Richard's rifles, redwood or curly maple. but if i went the MOA Corp 10/22, i wanted a McMillan stock. I just don't know.

The bolt actions are much more accurate. Turbo has a sporter receiver that is magazine fed. Flash has been fighting cancer, don't know what his wait time is .

can an unmounted 22 action from Turbo or Stiller be mounted as a pistol? those actions would mahe a nice xp100 type pistol for IHMSA steel shooting.

If I were getting a "plinker" 22 and wanted a pretty much custom gun, I would get a Anscutz 1912 Meister grade. http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/index.php5?produktID=206&menu=106&sprache=1&produktShow=detail I have four of them and they will ALL shoot less than a MOA at 100 meters. If you want to customize it get a standard grade 1712 and have Evelio McDonald to restock it and put a Lilja barrel on it http://www.steelchickens.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=68:evelio&catid=46:websites (The one laying on the leather shooting vest on his website is mine.)

If I were wanting a custom 10/22 I would get a KIDD as he builds probably the best turn key one available right now. http://www.coolguyguns.com/ You will spend a ton of $$$ and not get the same results as an Anschutz, but it is the best 10/22 going right now and BY FAR THE BEST TRIGGERS BAR NONE on a 10/22.

I have finished three batches of precision ground bolts for Stiller. The actions are great and we put alot of time in the bolts to make sure they will be the best on the market. Jerry has a 40X clone called the Lone Star and a new competition action he is unvailing this week end. I like the Lone Star myself and plan on building one for my grandson and one for myself. Try one and see if it isnt everything you could ask for . Precision actions at a low cost, I think Jerry will sell a bunch of these . Thanks Dave

well, i hope stiller updates their website right away with the new receivers. i would love to build a bolt action match .22lr. in fact, i just ordered an MOA corp 10/22 receiver today. i wish i would have known about this sooner as i would have held off and done the bolt gun first

Cole,
Jerry builds an outstanding action, and I hope the new RF action will be released soon. Another consideration is the "Falcon" RF action now being built by Leonard Baity http://baityscustom.com/ . This was a RF action designed by the late Bill Myers, who was very well known gunsmith in rim fire bench rest competition.
Best of luck,
Tony

tony, thanks for the info. i checked out that site and liked what i saw. have you heard of anyone shooting those RF receivers? they kind of remind me of the turbo actions in a way.

There are a couple of other threads as well. A couple on the Stiller also.

Cole,
The action was released last month, so not too many people have had the chance to have a complete rifle for competition.
It looks like a winner, so it won't be long before we hear more about these.
Best of luck,
Tony

If your looking for a very accurate PLINKER I would suggest a SAKO Quad with a drop in Lilja barrel. They won't compete with the customs, but they are extremely accurate with good ammo and won't break the bank.
