Rebed action

I have 700 action I recently bedded. It came out if the stock just find and the bedding looks good.
The problem is the taper of the barrel compared to the top of the stock threw me off. I wrap my action with electrical tape to keep it steady but I pulled the rear of the action down too hard. The action is not parallel with the stock.
I plan to grind down the Devcon a bit and skim bed again. Will I have any issues with the pillar angle being set? Thanks

Yes. You'll have to grind down the top of the pillar too, in the front. I wrap the front end of my barrel with painters tape until it sits where I want it, then Bed it, using gravity alone. Sometimes, I use a clamp with only a few ounces of pressure to hold the action level in the stock. They can lean to one side or the other, depending on the thickness of the bedding compound. If you're lucky, Cigarcop will chime in. He's the resident "bedding artist extrordinare".:):);)
Here's the tape wrap, but after bedding and taking 4" off the stock.
