Rebarrel Rem M700 300Umag

I'm pretty new here, but not to shooting. I'm putting a new Krieger on my M700, and I'm looking for some advice and opinions, and yeah, I know what opinions are like. Mike at Krieger suggested an 11 twist if I don't shoot anything heavier that 180's, which I don't, but it took me a long time to figure the 10 twist out, so I'm hesitant to change. I'll entertain some other thoughts if you're so inclined. There's a four month wait at Krieger, so I need to move if I expect to kill my elk in Colorado next December.
A good smith is also proving to be a challenge to find, that aren't up to their necks in work already. Any input on the barrel or smith would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Why are you changing your barrel ? Accuracy improvement, worn out Etc .
CDNN has new takeoff stainless barrels for $40 , have your old removed and install a new factory barrel . That is if your orig barrel gave accuracy that was sufficient for your needs , I'd buy 2-3 spares at that price .

If you're at Bragg I'm an easy 2 1/2 hours east of the All American gate.
Heading to South Africa tomorrow.

I'd go with a 10 twist, a RUM will handle 210 and 240 class bullets. I have a Tomahawk (improved RUM) and never considered shooting light bullets. All that powder should be put to good use !

Yeah, the barrel is just wore out. The $40 makes good sense, but this isn't a hobby, it's an obsession. ;)

I talked to Dave this week after he got back to the States. Seams like the way to go. He likes Bartlein Barrels, and can get one in six weeks, as opposed to the four month wait for a Krieger. Plenty of time to makes friends before my late season hunt in Colorado this December. 416R SS Heavy Sporter 26". Another #8 jug of Retumbo found me when I was in Vernal, Utah this week.;) Thanks for all the advise and the reply's.
