Let start out by saying I own rifles built in stiller, shilen, a defiance and a couple trued R700's. I traded a young gentleman a really nice M1A for a Savage 10 in 308 sitting in a MDT chassis with a Nikon P 308 scope. Even swap (I have 2 other M1A's that don't get shot much, thought the scoped bolt gun would see more use). Took it to the range today running my old across the course load- 155 Nos CC,46g Varget and CCI LR primer. Not expecting a lot settled in to shoot at 200yds from a rest. The adjustable carbine buttstock sucked and the fore end too narrow for the front bag. 5 Rd groups averaged .625 to .750! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot? Anyway stock barrel and accutrigger ignored time for some real load developement. Looking like the Savage guys were not wrong. Impressed!
