rear bags

I have a Dr flattop with 3/4 inch spacing for the ST1000F stock and like it very much weighing 27 lbs ,,now I need something with a slight taper on top and much closer ear spacing for the Terry Leonard stock,,I kinda like the looks of the Edgewood that is kinda turned diagonal to rest my trigger hand on,

but what are you comp shooters using that have the Leonard stock??

You're talking about the Edgewood Gator with "twisted" ears. I had a regular Gator that I could rest my palm on, but that violates good BR bench manners of not letting any part of your body contact the rear bag. I have since went back to the Mini-Gator and separate brick bag to rest my palm. I believe changing back made a positive difference. Both my LV and HV have Leonard stocks.

guess that might have saved me a couple bills ,,so instead of the one big twisted bag I need the mini gator and a seperate small bag for support..

I didnt know that was against any rules and know lots of people that squeeze the rear bag for adjustments,,but I never shot an official event but may get a chance to try it and would hate to get DQ`ed for illegal equipment,,

I mis-spoke- it's not against the rules- just poor practice IF you were shooting free- recoil. Your shooting style will dictate what style bag. If you are going to squeeze the bag for sight correction - I would go with Edgewood's "Softy" bag. I also agree you should look at ProTektor's line.

I had hedgehoghunter have my Dr made ,,I will get with him and see if they make the Dr sized bag with a drop to match the stock and what a 3/8ths or 1/2 inch spacing??

I never touch my rear bag when shooting but liked the idea of having somewhere to rest my hand without having to carry 2 bags,,

I prefer the standard edgewood or the 13a protektor all leather filled with paver sand for a leonard style stock. Get a donut for underneath it too. Edgewood makes em for their bags or a skip otto from sinclair fits the protektor. All available from sinclair
