Rear bag contact ??

When the stock of a BR rifle is in the rear bag what is the optimal contact on the ears ? Or does it need to be on the bottom of the space between the ears ? I'm looking for a a new rear bag for a McMillan Tooley MBR stock.

Either way is fine. I personally like the flat of the stock to rest between the ears. I order my ear spacing 1/8'' less than the flat width of the stock. If your tooley is 5/8'' I would like a 1/2'' ear space or a 3 stitch.

I prefer contact with the lower portion of the ears...I'd rather have the stock supported by 2-point "V" contact provided by the ears....I get better tracking that way.
This is what works best for me. YMMV

I agree with this completely. You should see light under the stock.
