Reamer question

Having a custom reamer made for a personal project. Most likely it will only be used one time, longevity put aside do you feel the chamber quality would be the same with either high speed or carbide? Any discernible difference in cut quality?

Correct above. Not even worth TiN coating for one-shot.
I know some would recommend against, but I've rented a couple reamers from Fred Zeglin and didn't have issues with them. If it's truly a one-shot deal consider renting the reamer (and go gauge if you don't have one already). Do you have a set of pilots for the bore diameter already?

HSS, but I borrowed a reamer from a well known AR supplier. Didn't know it was carbide until told after chambering. It was the nicest finish on a chambering job that I've done. I do chamber at about 600RPM. I do drill and taper bore and I need only to clean up the chamber.
