Reamer for a 6XC

Hi all...

I really need your help on this one.
I would like to order a 6XC chamber reamer for my own personal use, when ever I need to replace a barrel. I know “nothing” about selecting the dimensions or free bore space. I ran into this problem because the rifle I'm shooting was chambered with a long free bore reamer. Hence with the bullets I'm shooting I have a very long jump to get to the lands. I've had to compensate for this by seating the bullets half way up the neck, for a 30/1000 jump (not happy about that).
The bullets I'm using are Berger 105 hybrids. Even with the bullet half way up the neck it shoots well, but I'm at the limit of my seating die, and it's only going to get worse as the throat wears down.

So if you were going to order a reamer for a 6XC, shooting a Berger 105 hybrid, what would the dimensions be and who would you order it from ??

Thanks for any and all input.

Regina,

I would think that either Pacific Tool & Gauge or any of the reamer makers probably have a standard throat 6 XC reamer available. Way too popular of a cartridge for that not to be in stock.

Let the reamer maker know what your intended use and bullet are. Example: Am shooting XC with 70 gr Sierra and 107 gr Sierra bullets. They will know what the appropriate free bore should be.

Call em and talk.

I had PTG build be a reamer for shooting the 87 Vmax but it also works great for with the 105 Amax. PM me if you would like the print info.
