Changed LOTS !! Like LVLAaron said in 4th post .PTG was real easy to work with when I was building my 22-204, they set up my reamer to rechamber 223 barrels and rechamber 6x47Rem barrels to 6mm-204 with interchangeable pilot. That was 17 years ago things might have changed nobody was overwhelmed with work like they are now.
No Hugh Henriksen, JGS, Manson, Kiff in that order. Hugh's reams are the Rolls Royce of reamers.JGS/Manson/PTG - In that order.
PTG issues have nothing to do with what is going on now. The issues started well before any current events and it was all their own doing.things might have changed nobody was overwhelmed with work like they are now.
how about Clymer- i think they are still in businessAs of 10/18/22
JGS Lead time - 16 weeks
Manson - 6-8 weeks
PTG - Lucky if you get what you ordered before you gun rusts out.
Always been happy with Manson. The last one I bought was a work of art.
Not long after that, they tried three times to make me a 22-204, and never did get it right.PTG was real easy to work with when I was building my 22-204, they set up my reamer to rechamber 223 barrels and rechamber 6x47Rem barrels to 6mm-204 with interchangeable pilot. JGS NOTHING BETTERI have had great service from jgs
I've talked to the folks at JGS a number of times and they're a great group of folks to deal with. I talked to Dave Kiff w/PTG a number of years ago and it was a positive experience but there are a lot of horror stories out there regarding PTG reamers not being to the spec people have ordered that I'd probably have a hard time using one of their reamers now. One of the gunsmiths I've used in the past liked Manson's reamers but said Dave could be a bit ornery.I have had great service from jgs
