Reamer Advise for a 22br Target Gun

I am ordering a reamer soon for a 22br target gun, and was looking for opinions on the neck dimension. I am thinking of setting it up for a .250 neck, and for the Lapua brass trimmed to 1.550, and for the Berger 90VLD jammed. I figure the .250 neck will allow for a minimum of neck turning but provide the same results as a tighter neck? Am I off base? Does anyone have a .250 neck, or is there another recommendation for neck size?

I run both a .250 and a .254 with the .250 needing neck turning and it seems to be the best of both worlds. I'll use the .254 if a no turn is needed... but I dont use it for my stuff cause I like to turn necks a tiny bit...

I have a 22BRX in the build stage and it will have a .251 neck. I too like to turn the necks just to clean them up for the sake of concentricity. Will probably go with a 248 bushing for the neck sizer.

Actually this is a 22BRX build, I miss typed because I have had the 22BR on my mind since I am using so many of the same things for the BRX. Thanks guys. That is what I needed a confirm on. The .251 neck is interesting. I had not thought of that.

Out of curiosity fellas Have any of you guys noticed any accuracy improvements over the turned necks compared to a no turn 22BR? The reason i ask is that i had a no turn 22br a couple years back and it was a lazer for sure. I am thinking about another for a prairie dog hunting rig/ small club match rig so i am also going to have t decide weather or not to have the brass turned a bit ir leave it as is. Lapua brass is pretty darn nice right out of the box and if i thought i could get away from having the necks turned , i would do it in a second. So has anyone seen any side by side comparisons? thanks Lee

I have a few of each and really do not notice a accuracy difference between turning or not. A lot of that will depend on the barrel though..

Everything else being equal, turned necks might seal the chamber better with some loads and need less cleaning afterwards. Just a thought.
