Really Cool AR-15 Brass Catcher (Very affordable)

Just ordered a BRASS S.H.A.R.K AR-15 brass catcher from ebay. It's tough, lightweight, durable, high capacity (100-5.56 cases), fully adjustable, and you can see exactly how many cases you have in it since it is made with clear CNC machined shatter proof poly carbonate. Mounts on quad rail and has a trap door to remove brass. Coolest thing is the price at only $43 and free expedited shipping! Most fancy brass catchers cost much more and the traditional cloth bag brass catchers are an absolute nightmare to deal with in my opinion.

I do not have the SHARK yet, still en route with shipping, but judging by the feedback of the ebay seller, their work is excellent with everything they make so I'm sure it will work very well. Just looking at the construction, it's pretty clear that it will be very effective at doing it's job. Can't wait to give it a shot :) I will give input on how well it works when it arrives.

Here's the link to the ebay auction where there are more BRASS SHARK catchers available for sale if any of you are as sick of cloth bag brass catchers as I am and want to get something different at an affordable price.

I wonder if he will make any other models for the flat top and the high rise flat top etc.It sure looks like a sweetheart of a design.

That's a good question. If you have an ebay account, you could contact them with questions through the auction link I posted. That would definitely be a good suggestion for people looking for that style of mounting system.

I personally like the design the way it is since one of my ARs wears a scope. Only thing I'll probably change is the scope rings provided for mounting the unit. Be much more efficient with quick detach rings when storing rifle, emptying brass, or switching the brass catcher between my different AR15s.

Seems U must have a quad rail to mount it...Any other way to mount it?

Actually I only have one AR15 with a quad rail. The other 3 rifles have free float tube fore ends. All a person has to do with a tube hand guard is drill and tap for a weaver or picatinny rail then mount it. piece of cake :) Thats what I plan on doing. it states that option in the auction description as well.

of course your other option would be to install a quad rail hand guard.

That's one of the better catchers Ive seen out there. I like smaller ones though like 30 round max for hunting or the range. I made my own that strap around the FF tube or around my scope base.

Better than one I bought and which was velcroed to the AR. Clumsy mount, and as the bag filled, it sunk, closing off the mouth of the bag, simply bouncing shells back in. I still don't want something on the gun, and since I shoot at the range, some PVC along with a laundry net should suffice.

I was looking for a brass "deflector" when I found this catcher. Search for "brass deflector" on midwayusa.com if you do not want a big catcher hanging off your gun. Supposed to make all the brass land right at your feet.

The brass deflector I own is the old one that clips in the opening of the carry handle. Needless to say, it doesn't work on flat tops. One thing that can be done is to cut a couple loops off the ejector spring. Tends to keep the brass from flying so far.
