Real expectations of surpressed 6br

I have a Silencerco Harvester 30cal that I use on my 6BR, 223, 204R, 6x45 and 20P. Noise reduction and recoil is noticeable on all calibers, people at the range say the 204R and 20P sound like mouse farts.

I run the same one on my 6 Dasher and my .22BR. 5/8 x 24 threads. In my opinion noise reduction is in the 80% range. Very significant, and all my rifles are more accurate with the suppressor on as a bonus. You can shoot them without ear plugs, but the sonic crack is still there so I almost always wear ear plugs. Once you get one, you will be saving for the next. Just be warned. Lol!

Now that makes my interest skyrocket.
Without eyes,
That would be a huge benefit

After getting my first one last year, I did a test to see just how quiet it was.

My goal hopefully was to be "neighbor" quiet for night time coyote hunting with super loads.

I had a buddy on the gun, while I moved down range, stopping off to the side at roughly 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards. Rifle was a 700 in 223, shooting 52 Bergers at 3400.

Shooting was in the wide open, and the impacts were into the ground at the base of the hill at 300 yards, to eliminate the sonic crack of the bullet from skewering the results down range. You could hear the bullet hit the dirt, then a split second later the report of the gun. It worked quite well.

Each yardage, of course, got quieter, and by 500 was almost imperceivable.

Here's the spot. Bench was set up at the 3 evenly spaced trees in the fence line, just right of center, impacts at the base of the hill. I was off to the right, out of the line of fire.

I shot one coyote this year 3 times at 150 yards, while a couple deer 30 yards further, just stood there watching the show.

A buddy and I are going to test several cans again one of these days.
This is what I'm talking bout. I had no idea about being able to hear impacts. That would be interesting

Once you’ve used a suppressor you’ll wonder why it took you so long to try one. There’s so many good ones that were spoiled as far as selection, I’m using thunder beasts on my bolts but there’s quite a few to choose from. As far as how much reduction in noise goes really depends on your cartridge and load, for a 6BR I’d guess about half the noise with my set up. I use the same one for several rifles and cartridges. The reduction in recoil is significant.

Me and the wife first tried suppressors on a hunt in South Africa, when we returned home I was down at the shop getting my paperwork and buying 4, two for rimfire and two for centerfire. If you ever want to have some fun try a rimfire rifle with subsonic. I keep my Tikka by the front door with PMC moderator ammo and shoot a squirrel or two every week. That set up is “Hollywood” quiet and deadly. I don’t have neighbors but if I did a pellet gun would draw more attention.

That pretty well sums up my findings as well. I use a Dead Air Nomad 30 with their E-brake. I use it on my 6BR's, as well as a 222, 223, etc.
Accuracy wise they all shoot just as well with the can, and sometimes better. Especially my 222 for some reason.

I use a Spectre can on my 10/22 and with norma TAC ammo, all you hear is the action cycle and the "whap" when it hits the dirt right beside that rat. LOL

I'm a huge fan of suppressors!
I was out last evening on our deer lease and happened to see a large sounder of hogs out in a field at about 500 yards. The only thing I had to use was my suppressed 12.5" AR pistol chambered in .277 Wolverine, sporting a Trijicon MRO with a three minute dot I needed to get closer. I was able to get to just over 200 yards from the closest pigs but had very little to use for a rest. I should insert here that this is not a sporting situation it's about eradication. I opened up on the pigs and when I ran out of ammo pigs were still running in circles. The big bonus here was being able to shoot several pigs instead of just one, most of the time with a can the pigs are unsure which way to run. The bullet impacts were much louder than the report. I was running a Banish 30 titanium suppressor. I can't recall the velocity off the top of my head from the short barrel but I'm thinking around 2600 with a 90 grain Speer Gold Dot.

Dead Air Nomad sound is like opening a beer close to your ear or disconnecting and air hose under pressure from a compressor.. A loud but tolerable pssssttt... Change of impact is sometimes changed sometimes not.. Just freaking awesome on a 223 and 300 Black Out.. With the BO you can hit the bullet hit the target... Shame I don't really care for it though..

Oh that would be an imported beer not a Budlight...
