Ready to go big and build a Hunter Class Silhouette smallbore rifle - where to start?

I am ready to buy once, cry once. I know it will cost me. I know it will outshoot me. But
I welcome your opinions and guidance.

I don't know how the process would be to get a custom barrel. But I want to max out the different possibilities and never worry about not having enough gun again. I def want to get the perfect fit and balance of heavy barrel to barrel length.
Hunter Class so that I can shoot both divisions in one day.

Actions - and corresponding possible triggers
1.
I could start at the 1712 FWT Barreled Action
a. Keep the barrel or
b. get a smith to rebarrel it for me.

2. Or I am up for a Custom Action build.
a. 40x Clone like maybe PTG Lonestar
b. (IDK all the options, but I hear it's possible to install a Anschutz 5022 on 40x or other actions with a good smith and creativity),

3. See if a smith can rig a nice Timney Rem 700 2 stage for me.

4. Or some other existing action build?
a. I saw a SakoP94S go up for sale somewhere recently

Stocks
1.
Get a Wooster stock - How do I get in touch?

2. Suggestions for other worthy Hunter Silhouette stocks?

3. Put it in a McMillan Stock, have a smith bed and float it.

Any opinions on this suggestion I received at RimfireCentral?

Another consideration is the Cooper Arms Jackson Squirrel Rifle with wood stock, 6.5 lbs, or Jackson Hunter with synthetic stock, 6.25 lbs.

Nothing wrong with that rifle if it meets weight and trigger requirements

My rifles are old home made junk but a friend has one built on a Stiller action, right bolt left port, with a Benchmark barrel and Bix&Andy trigger. It was stocked by Steve and it's a damn nice rifle. He has a second rifle built on a 40X, also stocked by Steve, which shoots as well but the other is nicer to shoot; according to Rick. I don't know that they shoot any better then mine, but the triggers are better and Steve's stocks fit well. Classy rifles. The left port works real well for him.
I like Steve's stocks well enough that I copied the dimensions of the one I have on one of my centerfire rifles when I whittled the stock for my Model 52. I like the rifles to balance right at the support hand position and turn the barrels to achieve this.
The B&A two-stage triggers are a gem and I wish my rifles had them! WH

OP - Since you want a 2-stage trigger the easy answer is to buy an Anschutz 1712, it already has the 2-stage trigger in it. Shoot the rifle as until you reach the limits of your ability with it and then decide what you want to do as far as changes, there is no point in spending money on things that you may not want and are not really necessary. Spend the money on ammo and get in lots of trigger time.

Yeah that's where I am at with it in my head right now. Spend the extra money on ammo

Listen up, here...
Off the rack you could win the Nationals with it.
I have 2, a 1712 late issue and a 1712 FWT wing safety circa 1991ish. Both are excellent.
If I would change anything would be to shorten LOP, but I cant bring myself to chop the stock!

I disagree with this only because we all know it is not the rifle holding us back from shooting in the thirties instead of the twenties (for those who are consistently in the thirties, I salute you; sort of). For myself, it's because I insist on pulling the trigger when the dot is not on the target. I build myself new rifles or alter old ones just because I want to. It is part of the sport for me. Back in my early BR years, I had a rifle which won a lot of stuff for me and I would have done myself a favor just sticking with it. Nonetheless, I built at least one new one every year. Just like hunting rifles. I had all I needed fifty years ago but I still rebarrel, restock, or buy new ones all the time. I carry the new one for days and miles, usually shoot nothing, then, after filling my tag with the rifle I got when I was fifteen, I start to plan my next build. It's part of the game. I might have saved myself a lot of time and money just buying that Anschutz for silhouette but I like building them too.
If the idea of having a custom rifle built appeals to you and you can afford it, do it! Just for the satisfaction if nothing else. These are things which, while not necessary, just add to the experience. WH
