Re-finishing a stock ?

I've got a laminate factory savage stock, bvss type).I'm thinking about refinishing it darker or some color. How do you strip the factory finish off. Some sort of furniture finish remover? I do not want it to destroy the bedding,,acraglass). Anything other than 100% sanding? tootalloutdoors

Try the Jasco varnish remover, you can fine it at Home Depot. Just follow theinstruction and remember to wear 3 lairs of gloves, it will eat the skin right off you if come in contact.

Yes, if you let it set too long, like for a few days. But by following the instruction which is only for 15min before striping and I never had any issues.
Most of the lamination today is done with epoxy, so you know, cleaning solvent or even water can cause delaminate if you let it set too long.
