re-chambering an old barrel

Hi folks,

Just had Greg Walley from Kelbly's chamber a new barrel for my Panda, did an awesome job!

My question is, is it worth the money to have my old barrel re chamberred? This is for a 6mm ppc

The new barrel is a 1-13.5 twist, the old barrel is 1-14 twist. There is visible erosion with the naked eye for about 1/2". I have seen far worse erosion, all profiles are visibly seen, just surface erosion.
The old barrel length is 20 3/4" from muzzle to shoulder.

The worst case scenario, I would have a fireformed barrel with the same chamber as the new barrel for a fire forming barrel and possibly it would shoot decent for awhile.

Seeings that I just shoulder surgery, I am not in a huge hurry as I will not be able to shoot for upwards of 4 months.

Gun smiths and actual real world experiences will be of greater benefit to me making the decision.

Thank you for your thoughts!

I have done this a few times with success and failed once gunsmith wanted to amputate more but I was worried about barrel length. My bad! Thing to keep in mind i've been told is it might not run as long second time around. Herbert

Unfortunately the cost for chambering will be the same as a new barrel. I do my own work so it is my time.

That don't really help
ol' taxman, does it?

Send me your barrel and reamer taxman and I'll do it for you. No charge.
