Hi folks,
Just had Greg Walley from Kelbly's chamber a new barrel for my Panda, did an awesome job!
My question is, is it worth the money to have my old barrel re chamberred? This is for a 6mm ppc
The new barrel is a 1-13.5 twist, the old barrel is 1-14 twist. There is visible erosion with the naked eye for about 1/2". I have seen far worse erosion, all profiles are visibly seen, just surface erosion.
The old barrel length is 20 3/4" from muzzle to shoulder.
The worst case scenario, I would have a fireformed barrel with the same chamber as the new barrel for a fire forming barrel and possibly it would shoot decent for awhile.
Seeings that I just shoulder surgery, I am not in a huge hurry as I will not be able to shoot for upwards of 4 months.
Gun smiths and actual real world experiences will be of greater benefit to me making the decision.
Thank you for your thoughts!
