Re-Barreling a rifle to a Weatherby Caliber

Thinking of a custom rifle in 257 WBY Magnum . Do I have to cut the Weatherby Freebore in if I only will shoot hand loads ?

Same as anything else. Buy a teamer set up for what you want it to shoot.

I have and have read of others with zero freebore. Mine likes to push 100gr Nosler BalTips to 3750 over a 35P. PacNor on a Win 70 action, vmt rig. RL22 and the harder pushed, the tighter they grouped.
