RCBS X dies

I was wondering if anyone has used or uses the RCBS X FL sizing dies, and if so, what do you think of them.

RCBS claims they reduce the need to trim cases.
If I get one it will be for my 220 swift.

Thanks!
Alan

I have 223 and 308 dies
they work great!

I also use one on 30-06 and haven't had trouble. I'm not sure how it works on neck-turned BR prepped brass, but for hunting/plinking/HP it works just fine.

I used one for a 22/250 and it did stop the trimming chore...
Other than that, it's just a die....

Got them for both .223 and .308. Only used them once and wasn't impressed. To used to trimming and sizing the old way. Both were for gas gun ammo.

Thanks for the responses. Based on your input and the reviews I have read, and for just a little over 40 bucks, I think I will give it a try.

Thanks again.

I recalled reading about problems with the "X" die, and by it's very nature would seem to push the brass somewhere else, so I used this forums search function and VIOLA I found that they flatten case mouths and cause ........yep you guessed it....donuts. To some this may be minor, but IMHO you ain't gaining nothing over regular dies-except potential problems.

I found this exact thing to be true...if you are going to cut your cases back .020" below the recommended length you wont need to trim them for several firings anyway...not to mention the carbon ring problem that short cases can cause. There is no free ride, the brass has to go somewhere. You can "Ackley Improve" some rifles and that will stop the forward flow of brass, but then you need special dies and a reamer.
I have a set of 308's I will happily sell if you really insist on using/owning a set.
