RCBS swager questions and help

NoahbodyImportant

Silver $$ Contributor
I have the RCBS swager in my Lee Classic press to remove the crimp on WCC .223 brass.

1. How do I tell if the crimp is removed? I know as I get older my eye sight is not as good as it used to be.
2. Anybody have clear pictures showing the difference?
3. Do I totally remove the inner circle of the primer pocket?

Please be gentle as this is my first attempt in case prep and reloading.

Thank You

Jeff

You are removing the metal out at the top edge that should be indented slightly during the crimping process. After I do this ,I take the case deburring tool in an adaptor and cut a light chamfer to further remove any metal that didnt get pushed back out of the way during the crimping process. Then try seating a primer and if it doesnt go,run it through the crimp remover again.
