RCBS Powder Measure Accuracy

Need you folks well thought out advice. Loading today for my friends 375 H and H. Using IMR 4895 70 Grains. My powder measure will not throw 70 grains. I screwed the adjustment screw all the way out and got charges anywhere from 45.0 to 65.0. I did weigh each load individually with my balance scale after throwing the charges. THe stick powder was not hanging up in the measure... Any idea on why my measure is throwing such wild charges? I have used this RCBS measure for past 30 years and alway threw pretty true charges.... Now I can't trust it being accurate...

Try throwing 2 35 gr charges and weigh to verify.

If you are using the RCBS Uniflow, then there are two different rotors for that unit. One has a smaller diameter "bore hole" and adjustment plunger than the other, and is mostly what gives more precise adjustments for smaller throws, up to about 50 grains. For larger charges, switch to that larger bore rotor.
My larger rotor is still in the box on the top shelf over my loading bench, don't think I ever used it.

Yup! I haven’t used my large bore cylinder for years but it probably goes that high. Check it and see which one is in your thrower.
