RCBS Matchmaster Seating Die

Anyone care to share positive or negative opinions on that die? I need a new seater for 6mm BR and this one was pushed by three people at the shooting club. I've used RCBS before and they worked well enough, but this Matchmaster die is supposed to be the best out there. Depends on who says it I suppose though. Opinions welcomed.

This thread is four years old, but I'm resurrecting it because I have information about my recent experience.

They are really good LOOKING. That's the extent of my positive comments.

On the negative side, they will not work with VLD bullets! RCBS does not sell a replacement VLD seating stem, so they want you to send your stem and bullet to them for custom fitting. $27 plus two way shipping adds about 30% to the cost of your already expensive die, and the result may not work with any other bullet!

Fortunately, I discovered this in time to return it to Brownell's for a full refund.

These are the most expensive and overrated non-custom seating dies available. Most shooters who spend this kind of money on a seating die are very likely to be shooting VLD's, so buyer beware!

Oh, and that window to drop the bullet through is a gimmick that is more nuisance than help.

I have replaced this with a $15 Lee seater that works better, and accepts VLD's. And I expect 1/3moa accuracy or better!

If you need better than that, buy a Wilson arbor setup.
