RCBS Chargemaster power supply options?

Anybody familiar with he best way to set up the combo Chargemaster for remote area use? Will a simple 12volt to 8.5-9v converter using my car battery as input do the job? I am not sure what voltage the unit runs on: 9v or something close. Not sure if the unit would function as intended if there was some mismatch. I understand that it draws 1000ma so load isn't a problem, but I could use some help on the convertion and connection of the input to the RCBS unit. The easiest way may be to get an inverter to put out 110v from my car and use the unit as intended with it generating the correct voltage. JimDee

My converter puts out 9 volts. Would be interesting to see if you could get a plug from Radio Shack and wire it to a 9 volt transistor battery.

The ChargeMaster runs off of 9 VDC. The problem is that most single chip regulators like the 7809, need something like 15 volts on the input to operate properly. I would also try to look for a car cigarette lighter adaptor that can step down the voltage to 9 volts. I'm willing to bet the chargemaster will run OK on 13.8 VDC,car battery voltage), but I would not risk trying it.
