RCBS Chargemaster 1500 scale & dispenser

Just picked up a brand new unit from Gander Mountain store here in Pensacola. Last one. I'm sure you all are aware that Gander Mountain is going out of business and everything must be sold...so I'm told.

Actually got a good deal - $188...$200 out the door with tax. Really like this thing after playing around and testing it.

Just getting the word out in case you have a store close to you that is closing.

True or not I don't know... But I was told by RCBS the 1500 is a better scale than the 2000....

Yep, Gander Mtn bought by Camping World and will re-open after they dispose of what CW thought was either overpriced or inferior product lines. Was told that CW did not like the overpriced soft goods lines and they will be replaced. Firearms and all related items will continue as before when they re-open though.

The dispenser opening size is the KEY to being able to dispense up to 1 kernel at a time when it's trickling down to finish dispensing the charge.

It makes a difference especially with different powders. With ball powders I want the opening to be small while large extruded powders work good with a big or small opening.

The size of the opening dictates the flow (speed) of the powder. So with a smaller opening it will take longer to dispense the charge than with a bigger opening.

I just rotate the straw to the side (so part of it's opening is blocked by the tube) to change the size of the opening.

This alone has made the biggest difference in the accuracy of my CM1500.
