I need to know what the thread size is on the outside of the bushing that fits in the top of the press.

All ready tried that. They replied that the press was discontinue 40 yeas ago and had no idea.

#09161 Should be the number, the good news, I can give you the dimensions, RCBS does not list the part number in the catalog, they list sizes by OD and thread count per inch.
1 1/4”18 to 7/8-14, I will measure late tomorrow.

Scroll to page 11 to press bushings left side, the first listing is the is 1 1/4" - 18 if you are going to use 7/8-14 dies.

You have to specify which bushing, one is for the 7/8-14 die, the other bushing is for 1" -14 dies.

They are a great press, very well made. they use tapered pins and they were made as a bullet making press. The one to make bullets on did not have cut milled in it for the primer arm.I have one in the basement made in 1968 and its tighter than the new ones.........jim

Bullwacker, back to the bushing, if you can find a Super 3 Herters press at a bargain pries, less than $20.00 get it, remove the bushing and install in your press.

The same bushing fits the Herters 6 hole turret and two ram model, Most RCBS presses use the same diameter bushing with the same threads, the problem is the length, when manufactured the length of the bushing was different for different presses.

Johara1, that is correct and it remains that way today, page 11, again, above press bushings RCBS listed rams and presses for swaging bullets with no provision for priming, $74.95 for the ram.

Herters used a solid shell holder? without a primer hole.
