Hello to All, I have recently purchased a RCBS 4x4 A5 reloading press, the press is a manual index version of the RCBS A5 4x4 auto.
I have disassembled and fully cleaned all parts then assemled the press and fitted a new RCBS case activeated powder system and have loaded just over 800 44mag pistol loads for weastern action, also some full loads ( aprox 1gr under max loads ) for 200m pistol silhouette and the press all works Very well. ;D
I am looking at converting mine to a auto indexing press.
Do any of you own a RCBS A5 4x4 Auto Press.
I do know they are a few years old, but after getting my mind set on the sequence it really dose do a good job for my first progressive press, at least 4 times faster than the Rock chucker, and cheaper than the 550 dillon.
Could any of you tell me how the auto indexing bushing system is held in?
Is the whole assembly lowered in from the top and held in place by a circlip ?
Any help here preferably first hand would be great.
After doing a bit more research -- Do any of you out there own and use, or have done in the past eather of the RCBS piggey back press convertions?
Because they both use the same indexing components, (Nylon bushing - Clutch bearing - Inner Race ) and I am very interested in the longevity of the nylon bushing.
