RCBS 1500 and florescent lights???

Read the following, as there are two types of florescent lighting and check the distance from the fixture, http://www.repairfaq.org/sam/flamp.htm
See which fixture you have and ask RCBS. Stick with the facts, RCBS knows their equipment and recommendations.
Never hurts to ask.

I use my Chargemaster under a flourescent fixture with no problem. The table top is 50 inches away from the fixture and the fixture has T-8 lamps and ballast. Hope this helps. Lightman

Put a rf choke on the power cord. It will help with interference from the ballast. Radio shack has them for about $2.

I have a florescent ceiling fixture over my bench where I use my Chargemaster 1500. It is the newer type with the small bulbs, and there are four in the fixture. I also have an architect's lamp right over the press. I have seen no effect from either fixture. I will say that I used to notice variability in the negative value when I removed the pan. It would go from -152.7 to -152.9 to - 152.8 and so on. This bothered me, so I called RCBS. They told me to rub the unit down with dryer sheets every 10 loads or so to get rid of static. That did work, but I decided to ground the metal frame which is exposed under the unit to my rather massive metal base on my reloading table. This permanently cured the issue and now it is -152.9 all day long.

I've loaded for years under a florescent light with mine with no ill effects, loads good enough to give me single digit SD's

After reading the instructions for my RCBS, I was quite concerned over the effect fo the flourescents as I have the big industrial 8' ones all across my ceiling and another under-cabinet one only 2' above my work bench that the scale sets on. I double-checked with manual scales and a gempro and have come to the conclusion it has zero effect on mine.

I have2 bulb flouro's over my 2 benches at 42" I have 2 gem pro 250's and an A&D FX 300i (grounded) and I find no I'll effects that I am able to decern. JVON
