Ray Vin or Creedmoor Stand?

I am both a High Power Service Rifle Shooter and an F/TR Class Shooter.

I currently own a Freeland style EKL bipod scope stand with 5/8" rod. Even with a weight the stand is too wobbly to support my KOWA 77mm TSN-1 in the off hand position. Due to this I am going to purchase a new scope stand.

I am only considering stands that support a 1" rod and only stands with three support legs.

Due to this I am focusing on either a Ray Vin or the newer Creedmoor Stand. Initially I went looking for a Ray Vin but have heard great reviews of the Creedmoor with the PoleCat head. I also like the idea that the Creedmoor Stand comes with an outrigger arm for the scope that avoids having to purchase that additional component even though the Creedmoor is a little more expensive than the Ray Vin.

What have your experiences been with these stands and do you have a preference?

I am also going to purchase a Schneller Cart. I know that one needs the larger scope base bucket for the Ray Vin. Is this also the case with the Creedmoor or will the standard scope base bucket fit the Creedmoor?

Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

I have the 1" polecat and it is great. Very easy to use. It will never be as stable as a tripod. I am selling it in the classifieds. Havent used it in a couple years.

I think you would be fine with either. I use the Creedmoor and I am happy with it when in the offhand as well.

I have a Ewing tripod that I love. I have a custom scope head on it though. I like the rayvin stand, but I was never thrilled with the scope head. Check out the scope head that Wayne Forshee at stallings machine makes. A tripod is the way to go, far more stable than the older bipod style stands.

I've used a Ray-Vin for years and have had no issues with it. I have friends that use the Creedmoor and have had no issues with it either. Just a matter of personal choice, both are excellent products.

Check this out....http://gearbuggy.com/

These are made by a shooter here in the USA and not out sourced to Mexico like the Creedmore stuff.
