SELLING Rare Original Winchester Model 70 1976 Palma Match Rifle

I am selling a 1976 Palma Match Rifle. These rifles were built in the Winchester custom shop. There were actually 3 different Palma Match Model 70’s produced by Winchester. The first year was 1968, then 1971, with the last year being 1976. The Palma matches were held in different countries every year and the host nation supplied the rifles. The 1968, 71, and 76 matches were held in the U.S. and there were 6 countries competing, including the U.S. , Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. These rifles were made just for the competitors. The rifles were sent directly to Camp Perry for the competition. They were handed out to competitors the opening day of the match along with Winchester 7.62 match (308 win) ammunition loaded specifically for these “Ultra Match” rifles. The rifles all started out as “Ultra Match” barreled actions and were completely assembled in the Winchester custom shop, with the addition of Bisonite bedding under the receivers. The 76's came with an externally adjustable special trigger. Competitors could purchase their rifles after the conclusion of match, or, if the competitor declined, they were returned to Winchester where they were later sold. There were very few of these produced. There were only 65 of the 1968 Palma Rifles built, 120 of the 1971 Palma's, and 140 of the 1976 Palma's. This 1976 Rifle was issued to the Australian Coach Mr. Brown. I am selling the 1976 for $1,650. If you are interested and would like more pictures of any of the rifle, please message me. I originally had all three years for sale in this ad but the other two have sold. The 76 is the only one remaining that I have for sale.
