Range/Matches in Southeast Ohio?

New Guy, first post. I'm building my first 6BR on a Savage action and I was hoping someone could point me to a range where I could stretch my new gun's legs. I live near Cambridge off of I-77. I thought I might want to see how much I could embarass myself in a 600 yd match someday. Our farm is limited to 300 yds, so I've never shot much past that. It would be nice to have a range where I could practice a bit to see if I'm even capable of hitting a target at 600yds. Thanks in advance.

i grew up in cambridge and still have a place there to hunt.
they are holding some matches down in gallipolis. directions and a number are out there but i did not print it out.
there is a range by kimbolton but i dont think it is open right now. they had a mile available to shoot. it is not far from my place as the crow flies.
where are you located? i may be back in a couple of weeks.

found it. call don whitlock at 740 645 1265
or francis dunlap at 304 675 2201
the range is 9.5 mi west of gallipolis on rt. 141.

I found the place in Kimbolton http://www.thundervalleyprecision.com/ Looks like they should be open because they have all kinds of matches scheduled. I sent them an email, but haven't got a reply yet. I think the owner is Tom Sarver.

Check out these two clubs www.shootlcsa.com and www.bvrpc.org The Lawrence Co. club has varmint matches at 200,300,400, and 500 yds. The Beaver Valley Club has groundhog matches at 100,200, and 300 yds. Also you can shoot at 600 yds at the Lawrence Co. club.

Miami Rifle and Pistol Club has a 600 yard range and a monthly 600y/Navy shoot the 3rd Sunday of each month. They also have a summer and winter varmint league that is shot at 300 yards.

It is located on the Eastern side of Cincinnati in Goshen, OH.

Google it, they have a nice website with a calendar.

That part of the country is beutiful.Yeah Thunder valley probably isnt far...last year I think they even had a .308 only shoot scheduled. I spend some time in Coshocton when I can get out. Great area,I hope to retire there someday!
