You can get a 5x8 enclosed trailer new for well under $3K. Bench, tool boxes, racks inside and you're set.

I did a 6x8x12 so I didn't have to bend over as much, but otherwise same thing. It's the best way to go IMO. Keeps equipment out of any sudden weather changes and you can keep reloading/cleaning and such during. Mine has the ramp back door and side door for easy access.

I have a big ( 8.5x22 ) dually car carrier, enclosed that I had thought about turning into a loading trailer, but had a chance to purchase a used ex oil company data trailer instead. Has a 6 KW diesel genset, batteries, more lights than I know what to do with, so brought it home, wrapped the trailer in green camo, put a nice soft floor ( amazon gym tiles ) and removed one of the benches, built a table along one wall. Still need to install a mini-fridge, and the coffee pot, was thinking of adding a shelf outside on the back so the pot could be left out for anyone to get a cup.
Going to IBS in Holton next week, will finish the trailer when I get back, it's planned to make the trip to Wyoming end of July for the score shoot there. Still need to replace the tires, they are PROBABLY good, but going to replace them anyway. Guys at the shop are adding the spare tire today. Need to put a real jack inside the trailer, along with a good lug wrench. Best way to not have a bad tire, is to prepare for a bad tire.
Plan is, to have a complete set of stuff inside for reloading 6PPC or 30BR, then I don't have to gather stuff up for a trip to the range. All my rifles in a specific caliber, are chambered the same, so I can switch stuff back and forth, without a lot of drama. Somewhere this month, have to finish my Hunter class rifle too.

7x18 for me. Benches, cupboards, scissor jacks, air/heat, lights, outlets, ramp back door. . Milage will suck no matter what. I get the same milage hauling my Impala in my 8X24 as with the 7X18.
No need to carry a jack to change tires. Run other tire up on blocks.

Call one of the dealers in Georgia. They'll build you what you want for a great price. They'll install a generator wiring system, AC unit, lights, insulation, windows and flooring if desired. Seems like a 6x12 or 7x12 would work fine even in a single axle. I'd definitely get 4 stabilizer jacks for the corners. Cheap and worth the little $$$ each to install. Probably could get the entire package for under 10k. Just a guess. Here in Michigan it would cost 15K at least to have this done. Trailers that size in GA are around 4K. All the add on's would add 5k probably. Also consider getting the 6'6" interior height. Some are only 5"'6".
The diesel genset is about as expensive as the trailer $14-15,000. They will last thousands of hours though, versus maybe 1000 for a gas unit, maybe a little longer for an Onan gas unit. Adding the AC is another $5,000, it adds up pretty dang quickly.

Evidently the gen is needed for other applications?
I just put new AC in for half that price. A friend uses a mini-split mounted on the front if the trailer. No issues and very quiet.
IMO a tandem axle is the only way to go. Imagine what happens when a single axle meets a pothole. KA BOOM....BOUNCE

Those things pull the amps!!! You can tell when 1 gets turned on by the load it puts on the generator.

The only place I ever used my generator was at Ben Avery. And maybe at Syracuyse once a few years ago.
AC and coffee pot both pull respectable amperage. There's also a battery charger, that keeps the inverter going and the genset battery hot too. I can plug into 20A or 30A if it's available. I don't mind running the generator if power isn't available.
The trailer had a satellite data system installed on it, took it off, its a big wind parachute, I didn't need it. It was an older system ( think Hughesnet) I have starlink on the bus if I need it. I got this trailer however, for smaller shooting events where I didn't want to bring the bus. Biggest thing was the price was right, for a used trailer, with AC and genset already on it, was less than a new trailer, without AC and genset.

I'd be tempted to get a used RV. Replace the dinette with a workbench. Then you can take a nap between sessions and have your own bathroom.
Yes, genset needs to be out on the ground, or in the back of the truck (that's how I ran it with my trailer). Need a good UPS for the scale.

With my old single axle landscape trailer I had a few experiences launching tools everywhere. Aggravating but nothing was breakable. Reloading equipment is another story.
Thats what I was thinking but more on the lines of a delivery van/box van or one of the dodge vans that are tall,a job van. Get a used one and fix up the inside as needed. They even have the mid sized ones that are tall. Then there is no towing and parking is easy.
