Range Info for Northern Virginia

Looking for somewhere to shoot my rifles within 2 hours driving time of Northern Virginia. All ranges I've found here are private and have waiting list and you have to know someone to get an invitation to join. I don't need a developed range but some place safe and legal to shoot. Anyone have any ideas? If so, would be grateful for information. I had a property I was negotiating a lease on but the lease requirements were too stringent to be feasible. Thanks.

Take a look at Peacemaker range in Gerrardstown, WV It is only 1 hour west of Leesburg, Va.
They go out to 1000 yards. See the website for directions and more information.

There are two Izaak Walton ranges in your AO. One off Rt 3 west out of Fredericksburg towards Culpepper that has 100 yards and one off Garrisonville road west (exit 143) that has 200 yards. Both have an minimal initiation fee and modest annual fee. Last I knew Fburg was total $175 first year and $65 each year after.

There is a Fredericksburg Gun club off Rt 17 but lot bigger fees. You are a shareholder of stock though.

There is also Bull Run out in Manassas. Not sure on it.

check with Jeff Walker at Walker Custom Rifles (Culpepper) about their monthly steel matches out to 900. Just google him.

If you are retired military or DOD civilian, the Quantico Rod and Gun Club (off exit 148 west). They run regular practice on Range 1 and lot of other matches out to 1K. Regular civilians had a waiting list to get in the club, but the military and DoD civilians did not.

There is a range on MCB Quantico, they have a req shoot on Saturdays and Sundays. As well as different styles of shooting any where from ATC cmp/NRA shoots as well as prone matches. They shoot all the way to 1k. Same range where the Marine Corps rifle team trains.
