ramshot with 6.5x47 ???

I don't have quick load. But on different print outs from Q.L. for the 6.5x47 I see Ramshot big game, and hunter showing extremely good numbers. I know the cartridge is still relatively new, and mine is deffinately new to me.

My question is that people who are "much" more experienced than me are loading with RL-15, H-4350, Varget, VV-550 and so have I, following their more educated lead. I seem to get into trouble when I look at data like those Q.L. prints and try this or that because it's also right there.

There is obviously a reason that the Ramshot biggame, and hunter are not being used. So please tell me why. Is ramshot no good?

Never got into ramshot personally...

I mostly use what I have qty of...being Hodgdon powders and R15...

We'd sure be interested in the data though if you come up with something.

I would try ramshot hunter and H 4350 side by side and see what your gun likes. I shoot hodgen imr but I still use a ton of ramshot. Worked well in my 22 dashers. Ramshot is becoming my most used powder brand.

I have used and like Ramshot. It meters like a dream..like a pepper consistency. Also were boiler room of your case is a concern it works well as you can cram more powder in the case without using drop tubes and other methods.

Its also cheaper than other powders...my main powder right now is VIN N560. Thats expensive, but it works. I might try a Ramshot Magnum load and see what it does in my WTC rifle.

Ramshot powders are spherical. Benchrest shooters prefer extruded or flake powders for their repeatable performance. If you are varmint hunting or using a progressive press ramshot powders me be just the ticket for you since it meters so well.
