R33 in Lapua

Anyone using R33 in the .338 Lapua? How does it compare with H1000 and Retumbo?
Thanks
Bill

I shot it in an Lapua IMP. It gave me way more velocity and better accuracy. We also shot it in an 338 Rem Ultra IMP and two different 338-378's. It shot great in all of them and gave way more velocity. It seems to prefer the heavy bullets. Matt

I've been playing with it in my 338 lapua using 300 gr OTM bullets . it does give more velocity . I haven't had a lot of time , but so far what I've been seeing I'm pleased with it .

Matt , I should have contacted you sooner . thanks for the smith info , he has me fixed up . quick turn around , and nice guy to deal with too. thanks Jim

Matt turned me onto RE33 for my 338 lapua... still working on load development, but it shoots betterbthan h1000 and retumbo... more velocity and more accurate... 300 gr otm.

for example at 600 yards i was sighted in for h1000... i shot my lowest load of re33 tonsee where it went to sight it in with re33... it shot 5 or 6 feet higher than the h1000... way more velocity and flatter trajectory...

Mine seems to be liking something between 98 and 99 grains... just havent got to test it yet

"5 or 6 feet higher....way more velocity..."

That would require jumping from 2700 FPS to over 4500 FPS to see that at 600 yards.

LOL, I was waiting for someone to jump on that! ;D

Well i stand corrected, we all know it didnt jump velocity that much.... i dont have an exact measurment of how far the bullet hit higher... i shouldnt have said 5 to 6 ft.. i aimed into the dirt below the target and point of impact was way high... i had a full size paper sillhuette target aiming center... and bullets went over the target and over my shooting berm... i cant explain it fully, but somehow the zero was way way off and the re33 shot much higher...

I am going to start accuracy testing in the next couple of weeks in the Lapua and also a .300RUM with a 29 1/2" barrel. See no reason to try anything else in the Lapua. Retumbo works in the RUM but I bet velocity will be up with the R33.
Thanks for the comments

It means nothing if you don't re-zero your rifle to the same distance as it was before you changed components.....then measure impacts. The ONLY thing that changes trajectory is speed (for any given environmental condition).
