R&R at the range

Finally, after nearly a year hiatus, I was able to make some time yesterday afternoon to visit my local Dead Zero range to test some Hornady pull down cases that I had gotten a few months ago. Loaded up a few and had them waiting for when I got a chance to test them with my recipe that I had worked up a couple years ago with Superformance powder, Hornady cases, CCI LR primers and 140 gr ELD-Ms. I had measured the cases when they came in and the shoulder dimension was within .001" of what my sized cases that I had been working with, so I loaded up a few, hoping they would be close to the same performance as my fireformed cases. I was pleased with the results. I won't win any matches for sure but I'm happy with them. :)

First 3 shot group at 1000.

Thanks guys, but those guys out there can shoot 2-3" groups at that distance pretty consistently, with wind. I had to wait and watch for the flags to let up before taking my shots, and still couldn't judge enough of a light wind to get any better LOL One thing I'm pretty proud of tho is that I'm shooting a factory Ruger Precision 6.5 Creedmoor with nothing but a trigger swap for a Timney, and my handloads.

Often a a strong wind is easier to judge and more consistent.
