Today I lost my mentor and one of my closest friends. John and I shot, hunted together and spent time away from the sport. He was known for his rests and presses and all the other products he made. To me he was my brother.

I’m sorry for your loss. I had spoken to John a few times in the past couple years but never got to meet him in person. I own several of his rests and presses and I feel the quality is unmatched.

John was a very good guy, who helped this site get off the ground a decade and a half ago. He was knowledgeable, hard working, and produced beautifully-made rests. I was very saddened to hear of his passing... though I knew he had some health issues.

John was one of the great guys. I had only talked to him a couple of times on the phone in the past few years but I really enjoyed my time shooting short range benchrest with him back in the day at the old San Gabriel BR matches. He was an excellent machinist and shared memorable advice with me on more than one occasion. RIP good sir!
