R-33?????

Hi guys...

I don't reload or own a 338 Lapua but I had a friend ask me today about R-33 powder and if I had hear anthing on it as of yet. I guess its fairly new.


Anyone out there loading this in the Lapua and if so what kind of velocities are you getting with a 250gr lead?

I'm not going to claim any expertise on this one, but according to the "R" designation you have mentioned, that alone would suggest the powder in question would be made by Alliant. But presently, there is no information on their website that would suggest "R33" is in their inventory, nor is it showing as something in the works. That's not to say it might not be forthcoming, just that they aren't willing to let the "cat out of the bag" at this time. You might consider sending an email to Alliant and asking them direct if they are coming out with such a product. Just my thoughts.

yep its an Alliant Powder, and its been developed quite extensively the way it sounds.


I was wondering more so if anyone has actually used it as of yet!
