I have a bolt action I chambered (yes, I did the lathe work) in 6.5 BPC which is just a 6.5 Grendel with slightly modified chamber specs. I throated it long so I could use extra heavy-for-cartridge 147 Hornady ELD-M. But there's no load data for such a pairing. I started with Leverevolution because I've had good luck with the lighter bullets in an AR but my only "feedback" for over pressure is reading the primer. Not ideal.
Normally I only load book loads (Nosler, Hornady, Hodgdon, etc.) Trying Leverevolution in any Grendel load was "stepping off the reservation" for me. I don't normally do this kind of reloading or I'd buy QL and figure it out. But, for one cartridge/load the learning curve isn't worth it.
Can someone do a load workup with QL for a 6.5 Grendel with 147 Hdy ELD-M at a COL of 2.553", please? The bullet seats about 0.264 into the neck, keeping the bearing surface above the neck/shoulder junction. I have a variety of small rifle primers. For powder, I have a pretty good variety from Hodgdon/IMR plus I have TAC and RL15, PP 2000-MR, RL-17. I'm am okay with buying something if it is better suited to this bullet/case size combo.
Thank you.
