Quickload Help Request - 260 AI Lapua Palma brass

Quickload Help Request - 260 AI utilizing Lapua Palma (small rifle) brass, +/- 47.3 - 47.5 gr H4350, CCI BR4 & 140 gr Berger VLDs

From a 28" Shilen I'm getting 3050 FPS and went to 3111 :o but got spooked and backed off, albeit no signs. I never thought I'd get to 3050 even and planned to use some HBN just to learn something new, but I got more velocity than I needed and dropped the HBN.

I know I'll probably need to do some volumetric measurements for meaningful data (I will be home in a few hours to do so), but if anyone can help me do a QL model on this specific setup I'd really appreciate it. I'm getting into 6th loads on the brass and I figure I'll start seeing some signs, hopefully no failures, soon. I'm having a few bisected to check out some stuff.

Also, if anyone can recommend a quickload guru just PM his handle and I can look at his/her stuff and request some help.

Thanks for any help, and don't worry about flaming me for running high pressures; I've been told I'm a moron plenty of times for seeing what this combo would do. I guess those guys wouldn't mind shooting .250-3000 or WCFs still or realize where their 6.5 CM, XC, or other pet competition cartridges came from.

Let me know what other inputs I'll need and I'll try to get them in a timely manner.

Again, thanks. The guys here at AS are a real resource.

hi Romulus, I too am using lapua palma brass in my standard 260, firstly I find that on necking down this brass I have to neck turn about 2 thou off as the assembled round would be 0.296" and the neck in my chamber is 0.297" also it takes 2 firings to properly fireform, I use cci 450 (mag primers) and even then the brass lenght only stretches to 2010-12", Q/L does not have a 260 A/I listed however if you measure the water content capacity within the cases and the coal of your assembled round I could tap in these figures and it would give a pressure reading, I would hazard a guess that using these cases you could run the same pressures as the 6.5x47 which is 63,000 psi but the powder charges you are using would suggest that you are running at over 70,000 psi, What action do you have on this rifle ?, any signs of cratering or pierced primers ?, my 260 is on an accuracy international action,
Regards, dooley
