I wanted to give everyone a quick review of the RCBS Chargemaster lite I just ordered. So far it's been operating wonderfully with RL17. I do notice that the scale seems quite damped compared to my old rangemaster (slow to change and not as sensitive) and the accuracy is a bit lower. The chargemaster will say it has hit 41.7, and I'll set it on my rangemaster, and it will sometimes be right on 41.7 and sometimes it will be flittering between 41.7 and 41.8, indicating it's on the high side. It also occasionally goes over and lands on 41.8, but grabbing a granule with tweezers is a quick fix to this and I wouldn't consider it a real problem. After loading 100, checking the first 5, and every 10th or so after, I'm comfortable that it is repeatable and not dangerous (it reliably reads over: if it says 41.8, the rangemaster agrees).
I'm going to load with it for a while and see what my groups do. It is VERY convenient (I hate trickling powder manually) and I would rank it as one of my favorite reloading purchases so far. It makes reloading much less taxing and has cut my reloading time in half. By the time I seat a bullet, check the length, and put it in the box, the next load is done and ready to dump. If the groups or ES and SD open up on me, I'll just add in the step of checking every load with my rangemaster before dumping it in and still be ahead on time and effort expended. I'll report back if I end up needing to take this extra step.
