Quick Release Rings

You did not ask about others but in addition to the Warne and Leupold I have tried the Bobro and ARMS lever mounts. The Bobro is my favorite and the ARMS lever is a second choice. If you have a Picatinny rail with good tolerances you can take the scope off and on with repeatable zeros. Sometimes I like to move the scope in the axial direction to refine a position and it is easy to do with the Bobro mount.

Thanks for the suggestion but they will be going on a 308 Mountain rifle and I want to keep weight down. That’s why I named the two choices mentioned.

I've got 3 sets of Leupold QRW rings and have nary a problem. However getting the top ring over the tube without marring the tube is a little tricky.
I hope this helps,

Lloyd

The gen2 Leupold QRW are supposed to be the remedy to the top ring issue. That’s the ones I ordered so we’ll see.

My newest Leopold's are the Gen2. I have my Vortex G.E. mounted in them and they are fine. I never had an issue with the Gen 1's for performance, just don't like the snuggness of the top section snapping over the tube. I can't comment on Warne rings, but they look they they would do the job.

Have you installed any of them?
I’ve read where folks are having problems with the cap screws not being aligned is why I ask.
I had a set a some years ago that had a problem with alignment but I have 3 sets I bought in recent years that are fine. I just like the look of the leupold better

Have a few of them and my experience is the same. Got sold on them years ago when the late great Dick H took a scope off and put it back on at 600 in the middle of a string without any change in zero.

Are the Warne a vertical split?

If so, they could be a minor pain in the ass to get your scope leveled.

I have a set of QRWs that were nice and easy to install but I don't really like the way the QR lever sticks out.

The set of Warne vertical split rings I have are nice but not QR and a pain in the ass to get everything aligned all at the same time.
