quick question...

Whats the slowest twist rate that will stabalize an 80gr bullet for a standard 6br? Still trying to figure out what twist rate I want for my next gun, and I'm leaning towards shooting 80gr fowlers at longer ranges. Most of my shooting is at 100-300yrds, occastionally out to 500yrds. I was thinking 1x14, but might drop that to a 1x12.. any thoughts?

There's a chance that a 14 will stabilize an 80 grain but there is also a chance that it won't. It's probably right on the borderline. If it was me I'd go with a 12 and then you won't have to worry about it. I shoot 71 grain Berger BT at 600 yards and I went to a 12. They shoot great and I can't see where it has affected accuracy even at 100 yards. I would bet that a 12 will even shoot bullets down to 60 grains without sacrificing accuracy.

yeah, that's what i was wondering. I wanted to shoot the 80gr without sacraficing accuracy at 100 yrds with the lighter bullets. thanks for the info
