Quick Load 215 Berger

Could someone with Quick load help me out again? I'm wanting data on the 215 Berger Hybrid in a 300RUM. Preferably the max Node with velosity, seating depth, Charge weight, and Pressure.
300RUM
H20---117.6gr
Bullet Length---1.617"
Bullet Weight---215gr
Barrel length---26"
Case Length---2.831"
COAL---3.850" ( max fed from watts mag box)
OAL Touching the Lands---3.950
1 in 10 Twist
BC---.356 G7
Remington RP Brass
Thank you for your Help, Wayne

I guess it is fair to tell you that the combination you gave is rather hard to tune in QL. I'm going to assume that you are intending to use it for a long-range hunting type situation. With that in mind, I ran a powder selection for the 1.451 barrel time "node" from Chris Long's OBT theory. I chose this one because the next one up was simply unobtainable, and the next one down would have resulted in unsafe load densities.

Now, I don't have any experience with the powders in question, and will have to refer you to a proper loading manual for pressure and safety validation (there is a lot of errors in the data generated by QL with some powders).

IT IS NOT SAFE TO LOAD BASED ON QL SIMULATIONS! DO NOT USE ANY LOADS MENTIONED WITHOUT WORKING UP FROM THE MINIMUM LOAD FOUND IN A RELIABLE RELOADING MANUAL!

Maximum velocity at the "node" was created by the simulation of RE-50 from Alliant. The simulation produced a 60K psi pressure estimate and an estimated velocity of 2915. The load density was around 98% and the charge showed as 104.7

H870 noded in at 2875 and Retumbo at 2825

I'm Confused!
My Hornady manul shows you can push a 220gr at 3000 with rl-25, retumbo, & A 8700.
I've always found Hornady very conservative on their posted max loads.
I use alot of H1000 for bigger guns, & although I don't shoot at max presures, I like to take it up to see where I start getting pressure signs, & then back down for a load.
I'm trying to see if I can push these higher BC 215s fast enough to get any benefit over the 208Amax.
I was looking at 230s but their just to long & only gain some energy over the 208s, but the 208 beats it in Drop & wind drift.
Yes, This is for Longrange Steel & some Elk Hunting.

I see the confusion. The "node" given is a reduced load that provides a given barrel time that will likely result in an accurate load. Most of the loads mentioned are ~10% below max pressure.

None of that is to say that you can't find an accurate load higher up in the charge weights. The problem lies with the ability to predict the exact barrel harmonics of your rifle.

As previously stated, QL is a simulation only and has some significant flaws in the powder burn rates of some powders (Varget is a great example). I have no doubt that the Hornady manual is correct. The information for QL shows that at max SAAMI pressure (somewhat below pressure signs), there are a coupe of powders that will make 3000.

Good luck in your adventures,
Keith
