Quick detach rings, which ones?

Hi All,
looking for 2 sets of Quick Detack rings. Have a 6.5 x 47 Lapua, that is going to be used for rabbits to deer, and would like to be able to switch scopes (3 x 9 and 6.5 x 20), and not have to re-zero at the range.
I like the Warne steel rings, and already have some permanent ones, so wondering what you guys have found?

If I go with the Warnes, do I need their bases, or should I be ok with the Weaver rail I already have (which is installed with a skim of devcon, to be level and not "twisted")?

Welcome any advice and suggestions.
cheers

The Weaver Base would work fine but when in doubt go with the same manufacturer of rings and bases. I went to the Warne QR rings and bases but have not removed them to check for re-zeroing.Just stay away from Leupy's QR rings. They will put deep scratches in the scope tube.

Hmm... I use the QRW's on all my scopes (including two March scopes) so that I can store my rifles without the scopes on them, clean without the scopes on, and move scopes between rifles. No scratches on the tubes noted. FWIW, I use the QRW rings on my F-Class rifles (often not mounting a scope til I get to a match) and have no issues with zero.

I had the silver scope and silver QD QRW lever type leupy rings and when I pushed the top ring over the scope tube is when the damage occured and the same happened when I removed the top half of the ring.

Yep, I could see that happening. I use a piece of painters tape to put on/take off the top half. Once it's on, it slides pretty loosely, so I use the tape to slip it on/off, then slide it forward and remove the tape. Doesn't hurt to use your fingers to pull it a bit wide as well to help slip it on and off.

I would avoid the QRW or PRW Leupys because, unless you dull the top half ring-corners, they will scratch your tube upon removal. They do sorta snap over the tube, and are somewhat difficult to remove. Will scratch unless you put paper of decent weight between the tube and the ring portion....

The Leupold QR system is excellent unless you need a +moa base. I have shimmed them, but....

Warne Maxima QD Lever are also fine quality, just have to be sure not to lose the Weaver/Pic base stop that is not integral.
